Lonely Planet has a reputation of an “off-the-beaten-path” approach to travel guidebooks. When they needed videos to promote each of their 300+ guidebooks on their website relaunch, it became obvious that a template-driven approach was the only way to achieve this. Recognizing the challenge of creating a template that was unique as possible for every iteration of itself, Richtergarten worked closely with Lonely Planet to create an extensive toolkit for creating this large family of videos. Everything from set construction, to directing the shoot of multiple tabletop setups, to designing the entire progression of visuals, Richtergarten turned over the template and provided training to Lonely Planet staffers to utilize this versatile system.
